The Piece Hall, Halifax

THURSDAY

We went out for lunch at the nearby Fleece Countryside Inn at Ripponden Bank. I had smoked salmon and avocado on rye bread with watercress and linseed crisps (see extra). It was very nice except for the crisps which tasted like old paint.

Afterwards we went down Halifax to buy some house plants from M&S and I had a meander around the Piece Hall. 

On another note, the tree "surgeons" have been busy working on the overhanging branches of several protected trees in our neighbour's garden. I understand that the Council have given permission for the work but I am told that it's caused some disquiet between the parties concerned. Apart from the noise, we are unaffected.
