And Do they Know? The Places Where we go

Road Trip.

It's Himself's birthday today and we took off on a wee road trip.

First we had to take the cats to the cattery which resulted in 40 minutes of Cat Howling and wishes and hopes that they wouldn't barf on route.

After the stress of that, it was then three hours in the car in horizontal rain until we got to Teebay, and nourished ourselves and watched the sun come out while we enjoyed our coffee and pies.

We travelled via Scotch Corner, and  Sunderland to view the Angel of the North.  We've often caught her as we travelled the A1, but only out of the corner of our eye - there's an awful lot of greenery around her.

We managed to locate the turning and made it to the well signposted car park.

She is massive.  Her bum is as impressive as you imagine.    - I've added an extra in so that you can appreciate the size of her, look at the little man at the foot of her.

We then headed 20 or so miles up the road to Alnwick, and visited Barter books, with a pile of paperbacks brought from home.  How delighted were we to receive £30 in credit for our pile of books.

We were able to come home with a further pile of books which we didn't pay for ;-D  Winner!

Then we continued north again, and headed for our current favourite place on earth.  Lindisfarne and the lovely, friendly Crown and Anchor.

As a special treat for his birthday, we got a twin room - but we held hands across the gap to make up for the lack of close contact farting.

We had a glorious meal in the restaurant, accompanied by lots of alcohol and then joined the staff at the bar, for even more alcohol and lots of laughs.

Oh we did laugh.

It was a good day.
