After a "lightbulb" moment last night, I spent today exploring a code enhancement that could make a significant difference to performance. It's in a context that didn't matter when the code was originally written but now is important. So, code that was untouched because it worked, now merits revision.

Having worked solidly through lunch until 16:00, and watched a generally lovely day pass by from my attic office, I needed a break. So I nipped out on my bike for an hour's spin down the old railway, up through Roslin and back into Penicuik. Although it was sunny initially - when I took this view of whitewater on the North Esk - by the end I was soaked by a heavy shower.
