Tuesday: Granville

I had lunch with two colleagues today, from Australia and New Zealand.  It was ok but the entire conversation was about covid…..every attempt I made to swivel it to something else was unsuccessful.  I know it’s a feature of our lives but there is also life outside of it.  By the end of lunch I was so done with the conversation……..

Anyhoo, on a more positive note, not only was I at in-person event tonight but it marked one of my favourite events of the year, namely the opening reception of the Vancouver Writers’ Fest.  I think everyone was a bit giddy……and it was on Granville Island, hence the photo.

I spent a while talking to an author called Cherie Jones, from Barbados.  I shrieked like a groupie when I realized she was the author of ‘How The One-Armed Sister Sweeps Her House’.  In fairness, I haven’t read it yet but I know enough about it to know I really want to……..
