Aunties....

are there for giving nieces messy fun tasks like grating chocolate for desserts.

We got up and ready this morning. She did her bassoon practices and theory homework. We then went to visit friends for a couple of hours. When we arrived, Miss O was only just waking up and a bit grumpy. But katie won her over quite quickly. And their dog Boris very quickly won katie over. Olivia showed Katie her pony through the window. I sat and chatted to Chris and Tom, we made lunch and all ate together. Tom left to help unload the digger that had arrived with forks pronged with their hay bales.

After lunch, Katie and I went drove over to Sheffield to visit family. My niece was there too. Katie, C and Daisydog went for a walk together. My brother in law arrived home late afternoon and we all sat together for a natter before a fairly early tea. After dessert, Katie began to flag. She had her head in her arms, looking tired out. She and C played a few games of Mancala before we headed home. She slept for a lot of the journey, saying she had a sore throat and bad headache. When we got home I sent her to do a COVID test (just to tick the box - been there done that but officially she has now got through the first 90 days so testing is back....!
