The dropped stitch

So welcome

The search for bright things on a grey day continues.

It has been an afternoon of very drippy rain - not exactly heavy, but very wet making.

These blanket flowers, (Gaillardia), took much longer to come into flower than I had anticipated, so most of them may not get that far. This one is ahead of the crowd and very welcome in my lacklustre October garden.

A hospital appointment this morning to check up on my eye. A different consultant, again, but one who really spoke sense. How comforting it is to have someone who provides full explanations and also looks at the long term prevention of the problem. It seems so sensible - of course that's what the patient needs - yet so often it's not what we get. (It was a woman, do I need to add?)
