Comfort Food When Home Alone

Got up early, well met at 9.30am, to help JD take down the Art Walk photo banner. It had got graffitied and the time had come too. Was a very damp morning although not actually raining. The banner itself was covered in droplets which poured down my arms as I rolled the banner. Still nice to be up and out.

Was then home and hunker down for the day. Did three loads of washing and later put on wood burning stove in living room with all the washing hung up to try and get it dried. Before that I made the above stew, slowly, peacefully. Allotment onions, carrots and spuds but shop bought meat, celery and parsnips. It was very, very good and sustaining. Cosy, autumn day at home. Family away on hols without me.
