Housenick Estate Mansion ...

... Open house.

We were very excited to learn a few days ago that the Mansion at Housenick Memorial Park was to have an open house.  As you know from the many times I've mentioned walking here that we frequent this park several times a week.  

The open house was being held from 12-4 pm so we waited until after lunch to drive over there.  I had a feeling that it would be crazy busy but I underestimated the interest!  There were cars lining the road and parked wherever people could find a spot ... read: on the grass! 

We were lucky enough to actually find a place to park in the parking lot before walking toward the house.  As we approached we could see the line (pictured above) was lengthy and decided not to get in line at this time.  We took a rather nice walk down to the bird blind and beyond before coming back up to the house ... hoping the line wasn't as long. But if anything the line was even longer.  I don't have the ability to stand in line for long periods of time so we had to skip the open house.  Hopefully based on this turn out they will soon hold another one.
