Mono Monday. Neon sign

Casting around for a subject for 20th century inventions while walking around the William yard and saw the neon sign. Looked it up and the first neon sign was displayed at the 1910 Paris motor show. I thought it said southwest views but in fact it indicates southwest veins! No idea what it refers to!
