Runaround
After waiting up late for Samantha to arrive home I was up and out for rowing training early.
Arriving at Ponsharden the water was barely visible due to thick mist, a lot worse than shown in the main photo, so having launched we delayed setting off.
When we did go in naval parlance it “was brills”, our new ‘acting local temporary’ cox’n showed us a few tips, demonstrated new techniques and explained a whole load of stuff, plus we practised a different style of race start, very enjoyable.
Back alongside with everything stowed we thought breakfast sounded a good idea, unfortunately our chosen venue stopped doing breakfast when the sailing season ended, whatever the sailing season is!
An Americano and Danish doesn’t really replace a coffee and bacon sandwich.
Next up the collection of the Poppy Appeal collection boxes for the Pirates v Coventry match on the 30th, that’s my little Polo’s boot full to the brim.
A very pleasant walk in the afternoon sun with Paddy before some shopping followed by rugby on TV, no match at Falmouth today, probably a good thing, a week off for the guys.
The supplementary shows us getting ready to head off up the river.
