Swing Easy

The jazz club won out tonight for me against a very good chamber choir at St James's. There was no debate: FMJ was falling asleep in front of the tv after a day of gardening and cooking for tomorrow's guests.

The jazz club won on a number of counts: five minute walk v ten minutes; there is a bar; convivial company; comfortable seating; and I am convinced (self deception is the best sort) that Beryl Childs is singing just to me.
