Skye to Harris this morning

An overnight stay at the Uig Hotel, where the staff are wonderful and the hotel clean and pleasant and then down to the ferry at around 8.15.  I ended up being the first one onto the boat, which was a bit scary as I’m not used to driving onto ferries.  However that put me on the lower tier which meant we had to wait to get off.

I ended up exploring all the main roads out of Tarbert during the course of the day.  Third time lucky and I arrived at the place we are staying just before 4pm (which is in the Luskentyre area).  I spotted an otter as I looked down from the Scalpay Bridge and while there spent half an hour or so photographing a derelict house.

I finally made it onto the Seilebost road and managed a couple of images from a higher place on the road, just general context shots.  The light wasn’t good by this time.  I was pretty tired of course and needed a shower to perk me up.

P.s. I knew my ten years of Blipping was coming up but hadn’t realised it was yesterday as I’d lost a few days this week.  In fact I couldn’t claim I haven’t missed a day.  I began my Blipdiary in October 2010, just before we visited Australia.
