Part of my job is to co-ordinate our Secondary School Work Experience programme, where two pupils get to spend a few days working with all the various departments across the building, from Scenic Design to Sound and Lighting, Stage Management to Press and Marketing; Creative Learning to Dance. We offer a minimum of 25 placements (of varying kinds) a year, so it keeps me busy ... and then some!

Placements always start with a tour of the rabbit warren that is our theatre building, and one of the times when eyes will open wider than wide and jaws are guaranteed to hit the floor, is when the pupils walk into the Wardrobe Store and see all these hundreds upon hundreds of shoes, of all shapes, sizes, colours and styles, piled up to the ceiling and spilling out of boxes. You name it, we've got it!!

The girls today also enjoyed taking photos on their phones of them posing in fancy hats worn at jaunty angles! Who said work couldn't be fun?!

Love love love this room, it's musty smell and the tales it tells!
