The New Town of the Abbots

I spend an hour wandering around Newton Abbot today as I waited for various tyres to be fitted at the ever brilliant Buyrite Tyres. One of these images is the shot of the day.... all taken with a Samsung S3 phone and edited in Snapseed.

1. Ye Olde Cider Bar - in 1989, my friend Gerard (aged 19 at the time) ended up getting lost on the way to a black-tie party and had to call me for directions from here. "Hey I wanna Babycham!"

2. Newton Abbot's Queen Street, sadly one too many charity shops these days but good to see quite a few independent specialist retailers still there like...

3. A good old fashioned fishmonger with a properly laid-out fresh display including a bloody great eel!
