TGIF!

Soooooo glad it’s Friday - shattered!

Taught science all day today, so I was in my element (excuse pun!). The school was fairly close to home, but I’d not been there before, and it was the best one so far.

At lunchtime, one of the science teachers asked me if I’d like to join them in their staff room and have a doughnut, which shows how nice they were - and yes, I did! When I asked what the occasion was, thinking it might be someone’s birthday, they said ‘It’s Friday!’. Fair enough!

While I was in there, one of the science technicians said she thought I’d done a brilliant job teaching the Year 9s about gravitational potential energy and that she’d never seen it explained so well. I’m sure she would have been equally impressed with my lessons on taxonomic classification, ions and passive transport. ;-)

In all seriousness, while obviously a wonderful compliment, constantly hearing comments like this only makes me feel worse. Why I’m being offered six months as a school receptionist is beyond me…

Anyway, enough moaning! It’s Fri-yay, it’s curry night and my car’s fuel tank is full. Could be worse!
