Wide angle required

For architectural photography wide angle lenses are essential. But they are very difficult and expensive to produce as they require a lot of glass elements ground to strong curves then carefully aligned and assembled.
Gradually wider and wider and corrected optics have become available.
Back in the garden sods are still being dug out of the lawn to make a plant bed then moved and laid elsewhere.
