Today's the day .................... to weave

Not a day to wander the hills - or anywhere else for that matter - so we paid a visit to Ann McGonigle who runs the Glendowen Craft Shop & Studio in the heart of Inishowen.

She told us the story of how she came upon her weaving loom.  It had been lying unused for many years and needed expert attention to get it up and running again.  With the help of a friend, Ann did restore it to its former glory - and it is now used to make the tweed that she turns into a variety of wonderful garments and accessories.  I could have bought many things - but managed to restrict myself to just a new hat and cardigan.

The extra is just something typically 'Irish' that caught my eye when the weather did eventually clear enough for me to get out for walk.  I thought it might appeal to my old friend Bkeeper . . . . . . . . .
