Hogley Bog
Better known as Lye Valley, but still undiscovered by me until today. Apparently it’s a ‘calcareous fen’, a wet valley fed by lime-rich springs, which supports all sorts of unusual wildlife, including the march helleborine orchid and grass of Parnassus, as well as reed warblers and glow worms - not that I saw any this time... What a find!
