Weeping Willow - Little Stour

In these water meadows the Nailbourne and the Little Stour merge. The Little Stour has only just risen from a spring a few hundred metres away but the Nailbourne has flowed all the way down the Elham Valley from the escarpment near Folkestone. Both these streams are Chalk Streams but the Nailbourne is infamous for not running (or running underground) or alternatively flooding the local meadows.

It runs past the end of my late Grandfathers house in North Elham as a stream barely a yard or two across.
