19th century invention:
1827—John Walker invents modern-day matches.
Walker sold his first "Friction Light" on the 12th April 1827 from his pharmacy in Stockton on Tees. Walker's first friction matches were made of cardboard but he soon began to use wooden splints cut by hand. Later he packaged the matches in a cardboard box equipped with a piece of sandpaper for striking.
Thank you Laurie54 for the inventions challenge

Nothing much to report today.
Some delay with the phone being transferred from one care home to another for AJ (as the property is relatively new, the home is registered with Royal Mail but not each room. In order for the phone company to action the phone request, the address needs to be registered with Royal Mail!). Bit chicken egg scenario ….. and frustrating.
Went out at lunchtime to deliver paperwork signed by AJ to the new home as well as getting petrol (just in case). Successful on all accounts :)
