Our Goose Is Not Cooked...

...But Our Turkey Is....

and we picked it up late this afternoon from the caterer! Not turkey slices, but an entire half- turkey..The only thing we had to do was carve it... So we had our turkey dinner with all the trimmings after all and without much effort..and we will have another tomorrow as well, as the order was for 4!  

There was way too much food for two, so we saved the "Smoky Butternut Squash and Tomato Soup with Coconut-Chili Crema" for lunch tomorrow and will ration the "Pumpkin Tarts with Dark Rum Cinnamon Whipped Cream" - 2 for tonight whilst watching TV and 2 for tomorrow...

Other than the excitement of Thanksgiving dinner, we had a rather quiet day at home. We did take a leisurely jaunt down to the marsh this morning to comfort the geese and assure them they were not on the menu...and take a few photos of them of course.... They are always so photogenic and willing to pose... 

Tomorrow will be Mary's last full day here before flying back to Grand Manan on Wednesday; we have not yet come up with any ideas of how to spend it..but for sure, part of it will involve eating turkey!
