A Good Man in Africa

By William Boyd. I ended up really enjoying this book, particularly about the last third, but I did struggle at the beginning as all the characters seemed obnoxious, including the Good Man himself, and there wasn't a lot of action. I really only kept going because I've enjoyed the other books I've read by William Boyd and this was his first, so clearly had to have something about it to get published. The Good Man became quite an sympathetic character over the course of the book and towards the end I was laughing out loud, so stick with it if your first reactions are the same as mine.
