Globe Artichoke

I have never quite understood the ‘thing’ about Globe Artichokes. You munch your way through the ends of lots of leaves, dipping them in a vinaigrette as you go along. Then you have to remove the hairy bit and then you finally get to the tasty part of the stem. Such a lot of hard work!! Better to leave them to go to flower and get a beautiful display of thistle like blooms.
