MonoMonday: 19th Century Invention
With NSW at over 70% doubly vaccinated and over 90% with a single shot, restrictions have eased quite a bit. Fully vaxxed people within the Greater Sydney area can visit (max 10 adults) each other although can't go to the regions yet and vice versa.
So Helen and Omar are here with the twins and there was no chance of them not getting blipped today.
As a nod to MonoMonday and Laurie's theme of 19th century inventions, they are playing with a stethoscope.
This device was invented by Rene Laennec in 1816 due to his discomfort at having to place his head on female patients' chests to listen to their heart beat.
We learnt all about Laennec when we visited France in 2016 with my brother-in-law who is a doctor and avid medical historian. We even visited his grave in Brittany!
The first thing I saw when I googled 19th century was "civil war". There is a bit of this in some of the twins' interactions too.
Ella usually wins due to her iron grip.
