Mono Monday 19th century inventions

The list of inventions from this era is indeed long so we should have a good variety of blips this week. Thanks for the interesting themes Laurie54.

Whitcomb Judson from Chicago invented the zipper in 1891 (the same year my grandfather was born). The patent describes it “for connecting a pair of adjacent flexible parts that could be detached easily”.

My coat has 6 zippers. Two for the pockets, one for the front, two for detachable sleeves and this one for connecting the hood to the neckline.

It’s a dull day here weather wise but most of the people are celebrating the end of our long Covid lockdown. We went to Bunnings. We had been hanging out to go, you could get in but you were not allowed to browse for non essentials. Bob needed some building materials and I was happy in the gardening section. We both came away happy with our purchases.
