In The Beginning There Was A Frame
The Man and I had been looking for a small cottage to buy to let out for holidays, to give us a bit of income in our retirement. It produced quite a dilemma as we live in a lovely little Cumbrian village. We looked at a couple of properties but holiday cottages can take the spirit from a village. No regular next-door-neighbour, no children to keep the village school open, no support to the committees.
We found the answer in a property being built for short occupation only, a lodge in a small development near a Lake District village. It had been started, the ground had been levelled and the concrete foundation had been put in before the buyers backed-out. This isn't one of those sort on wheels or the ones we see entering the Lake District split between two lorries.
I was lucky to be able to watch it's progress. You can see how the room ended up, if you wish.
