It was a pleasant sunny morning…which of course inevitably means, as the autumn proceeds, that every speck of dust in the flat shows up clearly in the low directional light. But at least the light through the Pilea peperomioides gave me my blip.
We both had a pretty busy day. As we are having new fitted wardrobes in a couple of weeks time, we have to vacate our bedroom in order to have various bits of work done. This starts, tomorrow, with the removal of the existing wardrobes and furniture, and continues with the removal of a sofa bed by a charity shop, and then - hopefully - the attendance of an electrician in about 10 days time. We’ve given ourselves plenty of time for things to go wrong…
Anyway, I emptied all my clothes out of the wardrobes into various boxes and bags. And we wrestled our bed into the spare room, and wrestled the sofa bed (the one which is going) into our bedroom, where it can await collection. A few other bits and pieces needed sorting out, like procuring some hooks to hang our dressing gowns on the back of the spare room door (Anything and Everything, of course).
The sore calf held up well during the toiling, and also when I hopped on the spinning bike for a gentle 20 minute ride. It didn’t even complain too loudly when I walked over to the supermarket, and back via Great Junction Street. The massage roller that I’ve dug out seems to be doing quite a good job of promoting blood flow in the sore muscle. I managed to avoid aggravating it today, so fingers crossed I haven’t set back the healing process too much.
Inevitably, there was some work in and amongst, but not too much.
Tonight will only be our second night in the spare room in the 16 years we have lived here. The first night was relatively recent, but was definitely unplanned and not very pleasant. Fingers crossed that the next few weeks of sleeping in that room are not going to be too problematic. I’ll doubtless get used to the fact that the noises in there are slightly different to the ones in our room, and there might be more ambient light coming through the window, although we’ve anticipated that this might be a problem and we are taking steps to do something about it.
