A grand day out

We made excellent use of our English Heritage membership today. Capitalising on the fine autumn weather we headed off to North Yorkshire. This is Middleham where we visited the castle for the first time in years. It’s also famous for horse racing and we saw very many fine racehorses in the tiny town. It should also be famous for being where my dad grew up, my grandad worked in stables here in the 1930s.
Then onto Richmond and another castle.
We finished the afternoon at Easby Abbey. Absolutely beautiful.
