Apothecaries Hall
I stumbled across the entrance to the Apothecaries Hall near Ludgate Hill on my way to a meeting in London. It dates from 1632 but was rebuilt in 1672 after the Great Fire of London. It has remained unchanged since then, surviving the Blitz. My maternal great-grandfather was an apothecary in Liverpool so I wondered whether he had ever been here since it controlled the training and licensing of apothecaries and was the forerunner of the general medical council.
