Dent Railway Station is the highest mainline station in England. 

Coming back from Kendal today we travelled through Dentdale and visited Dent Station. I once alighted at Dent at the start of walking the Dales Way many moons ago. 

Dentdale was also where I visited the area for the very first time when I was a Cub Scout. I remember camping in a farmer's sloping field. It rained so hard we lifted the tent walls to allow the water to run through!
