Song of the Trees
A bit of a cold day for Florida. It is our spring break time and the high was 53 degrees with lots of gusty wind! The beach probably is still packed with spring breakers even with the weather. I stayed out of the wind and took Moira to the Great Exploration Museum for the morning.
When I have a moment to myself, and the wind is blowing, I like to stand on the one side of our home with the pines and oaks and just listen to the wind. So often life is so busy and noisy you can't hear your own thoughts. With over 30 oaks and pines, we affectionally call it "our little forest"! Hope everyone had time to just listen today!
"A few minutes ago every tree was excited, bowing to the roaring storm, waving, swirling, tossing their branches in glorious enthusiasm like worship. But though to the outer ear these trees are now silent, their songs never cease. Every hidden cell is throbbing with music and life, every fiber thrilling like harp strings, while incense is ever flowing from the balsam bells and leaves. No wonder the hills and groves were God's first temples, and the more they are cut down and hewn into cathedrals and churches, the farther off and dimmer seems the Lord himself." John Muir
