Pink Stars

It has been overcast all day and the garden looks rathe drab, apart from this tub of Nerine bowdenii, whose lovely pink,  starry flowers are just beginning  to open.  Our neighbour grew them  first, and after  I admired them she put some of the off shoots from  her bulbs in a pot, and gave them to me. Over the years they have grown and each year I get more flowers; it's definitely a gift that  keeps on giving . Di moved away two years ago but I like to  remember her by her nerines.
(They are sometimes  called Guernsey  lilies  but  actually  are native to South Africa. )
