(Not Very) Autumnal

We popped over to Sherborne this morning in the hope of finding something for the 'almost autumn' Wide Wednesday theme. When I spotted these crocuses though I thought maybe we have skipped autumn and winter here this year and gone straight to spring. No doubt someone who knows more about plants than me (i.e. the rest of blipfoto) will inform me that there are autumn/winter crocuses as well.

Looks much, much better viewed large.

We also came across an unexpected profusion of bees, commas and red admirals on some ivy. The comma (extra) looks more autumnal colourwise.

It's been a lovely day today but we are hoping for some rain. Our decorator was supposed to start on our bedroom today but called to say he was going to take advantage of the good weather and catch up with some windows he was finishing for another customer. Hopefully he will be with us tomorrow.
