Heron

Backblipped. I wasn't going to bother with this one. I was walking in the Merkinch Nature Reserve but it was on the far side of the lagoon and really out of range even with a fairly long telephoto. Another, near it, had its back to me. It wasn't really possible to get any closer except perhaps by walking along the railway line. It seems quite big and I think it's looking at me. I was talking to a local man that I met on the walk and he was telling me that the herons are mostly nesting in the trees by the road beyond Clachnaharry. It's not a very good shot but decided to use it anyway.
