OPTICAL ILLUSION

If only I'd paid more attention in Physics at school - and our teacher had spent less time telling us about his misspent youth as a Teddy Boy involved in 1950s Liverpool gangland knife fights - I might understand why the turbines look so huge here, when in fact they're several miles across the bay and look tiny here (spot them on the left), probably a mile or so closer. I know the zoominess of the camera is involved, but I was quite taken aback when I looked at the photo on screen and saw them apparently looming over the houses. They really didn't look like that in real life.
