Brantwood

We have had a lovely first day of our holiday. We decided to take the boat across Coniston Water to John Ruskin's historical home on the far side of the lake. We found the whole day to be very stimulating as John Ruskin's talents were so amazing and diverse, he also had great devotion to social compassion and policy. The house is jammed full of beautifiul art work and natural treasures.
As we waited for the boat back to Coniston we sunbathed on the shores of the lake-the first real sun and warmth in months-then it snowed!
