Sights from my Bike Ride

I went to the cardiologist this morning for my follow up after the stress test and imaging last week.  We went over the results which he confirmed were negative for any heart disease.  We talked about my cardiac risk as an "elderly" overweight woman with high LDL cholesterol.  He's giving me 6 months to start eating healthier, lose weight and exercise at least an hour every day.  Then he'll recheck my labs and, if my LDL is down, I won't have to start on medication to lower it.  I'm hoping that this is the motivation I need to make these changes that I really wanted to make anyway.  I am grateful that I really like to exercise.  Now I'll have a reason to do more of it - doctor's orders!

So....after my visit I took off on a bike ride.  According to my new watch, I rode 32 miles and met my activity goals for the day.  It was a perfect time to get the watch because it will help to keep me going and keep a record of what I've done. :-)

TOP ROW:     A view of the front range from about 15 miles east of town.  The smoke from many fires is still hanging over the mountains but it's really only noticeable there, as can be seen in the other images.

Halloween decorations are starting to appear.

I think I've blipped this sign before but it makes me smile whenever I pass it so I thought I should share it again.

MIDDLE:       Coors Brewery is about 40 miles southwest of here in Golden.  I'm not sure why the barley elevator is out here in the middle of nowhere.

                      Trixie :-)

It sure looks and smells like marijuana but it's really industrial hemp.  Wiki says that it is used to make a variety of commercial and industrial products including rope, textiles, clothing, shoes, food, paper, insulation and biofuel.  It doesn't contain THC, the psychotropic chemical in marijuana.

BOTTOM:     Southwest Airlines has very colorful planes!

The best tree carving I've seen in a while.  If you look closely, you'll see that the bear is tenderly holding a dove.  PD says it looks like he's going to eat it, but I don't agree!

Just a pastoral scene.  Some trees have more color than others.  This one is just starting to change.

The weather was fabulous, 72 F with a light breeze and lots of sunshine and blue sky. :-))

I just backblipped a Steller's Jay for yesterday if you want to take a look. :-)
