Art of the rainy day
We woke up to torrential rain. It rained some more. We went for a walk when we thought it had stopped raining. It quickly started raining again. Raining hard.
Back home, soggy and cold, we resolved that whilst we don’t mind getting a little bit wet, it was getting a little bit silly out, so let’s remain in. Whilst on our foray into the wild for essential supplies, we also picked up some art supplies – not that Matty’s crafting box is running low or anything – and a few small canvasses.
Having managed to prise ALL of my offspring away from their screens, we spent a very nice hour in the afternoon having our own little painting competition, which was judged by President Teddy. The brief was to offer up a piece which showed us a little something about the artist themselves. All artists had an hour to complete their piece and could use whatever materials came to hand.
With some of the stuff being in equal parts personal and bloody awful, I’ll spare our blushes and instead give you brushes. Besides, I felt like a giant amongst these small canvases on their easels…
