A view from Jeanneb

What a difference a day makes!

A lazy Sunday morning, it was raining first thing but the sun came out as we were having breakfast.

Walked the other way today across the end of the beach and on to the break water that was inundated by waves yesterday.

The view is towards Le Creux and round to Beaufort beach. We climbed up through the trees to the plateau where we could see the very exclusive houses on the Chemin de Creux where reportedly Nigel Mansel has a house. Interesting as we’ve seen his house ( or former house) on the Isle of Man.

We didn’t make it down to Beauport but doubled back to the church of St Brelade just across from the hotel. A lovely stone church in an amazing situation. It also has a small Fisherman's chapel alongside.

Back to the hotel for coffee on the terrace, it was a joke yesterday to suggest afternoon tea out there.

A bit of a rest - we’re getting old and then we got the 2.00 pm bus to St Helier. A nice journey around St Aubin’s Bay but St Helier is too big and busy for a quick visit. The bus stopped in Liberation Square which was appropriate as we went on to the Maritime Museum where the tapestries of the occupation are on display. I love anything like this. One created by each parish on the island to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the liberation in 1995. A further (13th) tapestry was made by all the parishes to celebrate the 70th anniversary in 2015.

Back to St Brelade and whilst still sunny the wind had got up enough to encourage the surfers out again. Such a different day, I haven’t even had my coat with me.

A drink or two in the bar and now ready to go to dinner!

Also got a negative result for my test at the airport yesterday thank goodness!
