What a spread
As part of our ongoing quest to sample and rate Sunday roast lunches at pubs in the area, we went to the Old Chestnut Tree. It dates from 1537 with original glass in situ.
The roast for 2 was a sharing board- 3 types of meat, roast potatoes, YP, pigs in blankets, stuffing and lots of veg.. buttered greens, carrot and parsnip purée, cauliflower cheese and gravy. All for £25:95.
It was excellent both in quality quantity and value, also with the extra pizzazz of serving as a sharing board.
The menu was very limited- No starters ( not needed) roast only and 3 puddings. Which of course we couldn’t contemplate. We’ll definitely go back!
