Huge impact

We took a 3.5 km hike through gorgeous, typical African bush up to the rim of the Tswaing meteorite impact crater today.

It's been placed on a tentative list for being declared a world heritage site and certainly has my vote! The view from the rim into the crater is amazing...the bottom is filled with very salty water and the whole area is a protected reserve.

The warmth, the sun beating down and walking in single file on the narrow dirt path through the veld with swaying grasses was simply wonderful.
