Silly Saturday
Up to the next village this morning to get my flu jab - straight in without any queues and out again in 2 minutes. Back home and got changed ready to go to a singing afternoon organised by the new church curate. A newly qualified music graduate led the singing and he was brilliant - he also had a wonderful bass voice. We sang various songs - one being a Guatamalen tune which was lovely (earmarked for future use at church communion). We finally did an anthem by John Rutter - “A Clare Benediction” which we then performed for the vicar and his wife who turned up to listen. A lovely afternoon and we have suggested that perhaps we could have a Christmas singing afternoon a bit later on. Then went with friend H to the garden centre intending to get a coffee, but the cafe had just closed. Saw this Meerkat “army” and thought it would do for the Silly Saturday theme, although looking at the label the only thing silly about them was the price!
