This is Tuesday

His Lordship thought today was Saturday. Should I be worried?

I knew it was Tuesday and my son-in-law's birthday. I knew that I had yet again been too mean to buy a stamp for a card that could easily be delivered by hand if I were prepared to walk 2miles to his house. That was why I could be seen negotiating paths and pavements, white with a cover of the lightest of snow flakes that lacked much intent to linger, at 6:30 this morning.

It's a long time since I wandered the streets at such an early hour. In the old castle days, His Lordship and I used to run and cycle around its marches when the world was sleeping, but the proximity of the gym has all but curbed our enthusiasm for going further afield so early.
I had forgotten how good it feels to have the world more or less to yourself, and with the delivery completed, it was back to the DowerHouse to discover HL just getting out of bed, thinking it was Saturday.

He now knows it's Tuesday and time to meet our neighbours for a coffee and an exchange of news. I hope they don't think it's Saturday too.
It is Tuesday isn't it?

I'm dedicating this blip to my brother Robin who never fails to tell me how much he enjoys seeing blips of the Meadows.... not! ;)
