GRUMBLE ALERT!

A favourite, and common, grumble is equally applicable to both Motorways and Dual Carriageways.
THUS:-
If you are on a road significantly narrower than two motorway lanes and WITHOUT Bollards between you, you're allowed 60 m. p. h. yet, on a Motorway with, albeit flimsy, Bollards twixt lanes the limit is 50 mph.
And don't DARE say worker safety!  We almost NEVER see ANY work force.
This p.m., to avoid stir-crazy cabin fever I took off to Cocklakes for a Brew and a lump o' Cake.  "They" have decided they need to renew worn out surface.  Consequently we were "Squozen" (© Mr. Duckworth, Biol. who argued "Freeze-frozen = Squeeze-squozen.) onto one lane in each direction, Bollards and all. WHY then were we reduced to 30 mph? Particularly as the workforce was the other side of the thin "Wood" separating carriageways. We passed at least one side-road about 3/4 the width of these two lanes, with a "National limit applies" sign allowing one to reach the dizzy speed of SIXTY m.p.h. "at your own risk" I hasten to add, having driven it.
