Hoping to see some foliage
Memories4Me sent us a map of Maine today with the foliage progress in colorful sections. The Downeast Coast is in the moderate zone for color, so we will see a lot more color than here in Hanover. We're still green everywhere.
We plan on leaving around 10 tomorrow to miss the Boston commuter traffic nightmare from the South Shore. The pandemic has really cut back on the number of people who take the commuter rail or bus into town. The MBTA has also cut the schedule, so the roads are packed even though many office workers are still working from home. It should take us about 6 hours to get to Machiasport. There will be very little traffic after Portland Maine. We enjoy the ride, the familiar landmarks, remembering how our dogs pepped up at the first scent of the ocean. It's just a cat on the trip now, lightly sedated to keep her from singing the whole way.
For the Record,
This day came in chilly with a real hint of autumn. We have packed only warm clothing.
This is a small 4x4 inch painting of mine. Years ago i painted a few of these for gifts.
All hands excited about our trip to the old homestead.
