Margie on Humor
“Humor,” says Margie, "turns things around. I’m not sure you can teach someone a sense of humor, but if you know humility, you’ll learn humor, and if you don’t know humility, there’s not much hope for you anyway.”
We laughed.
“Of course a teenager or someone in their twenties might not have been humbled yet, but it’s not their fault. I was that way. I knew everything when I was 22, but that’s because I hadn’t been living long enough to be humbled. As soon as I started reaping the consequences of my bad decisions, I got a good dose of humility, and I’ve been laughing at myself ever since.”
