BIRDS OF A FEATHER

I dont think I've ever seen these two together before - A Royal Spoonbill and a little Pied Shag. Hmm ? strange friends. This close encounter was at the Ferry mead ponds.  The spoonbill was obviously just roosting as it was a very high tide down at the estuary and there would be no feeding ground for him there.. The shag had been fishing in the pond and had come up to sun himself and dry.  I was surprised to see the shag fishing in  the pond as I didn't think there were any fish there. Must be some bullies?
