Ice Cream Cones & Sunday Drives

Back in the olden days (1970's), when I was a child, we would do day trips to the seaside during the summer, including Riverton, Monkey Island, & some more inland places like Tuatapere.
A lot of the holiday houses had these large wooden butterflies on the wall.

To me, they're as kiwi as jandals, Buzzy Bees, & Watties Tomato Sauce

I always get nostalgic whenever I see them.

This one is on my house, it was hand made in the North Island.
