Visiting a Rega base (Swiss air ambulance)

After a business meeting we had the opportunity to visit the local Rega base in Bern. A now retired pilot showed us around and explained everything we wanted to know. Unfortunately the helicopter was out on a mission for transporting a newborn baby from a local hospital to a specialized clinic. That‘s also the reason the stretcher was left in the base, as they had to use a transport incubator for the little patient.

It‘s now the second time I visited a base and it‘s always very impressive to see and feel the dedication of the Rega people for their job of flying and helping others.
