Caught in the act

I recognized the little green thing straight away as a mantis but thought it had got it's abdomen crushed under a stone, on lifting the stone I saw that the insect was indeed stuck to the bottom of the stone by a mass of extruding goo.... which I then recognized as several sections of mantis egg cases! So mum and offspring were gently replaced in the same weird position.
